Paradise Found: Our
magical vacation turned honeymoon in Sanya, Hainan Province, China
Chapter Three
So our balcony has its own private bathtub! YEP! Own private
bathtub! When we looked at those online, they were like a million yuan a night
rooms. We got an upgrade for freeeeeeee.
Sarah’s travel tip: When you are going on vacation with
someone, significant other or otherwise it doesn’t matter, say it’s your
anniversary/honeymoon. We didn’t need to prove it and the perks we got? OMG. I
didn’t even tell you about the executive lounge yet.
So our hotel room is boss. We could have lived there for
four days and been ecstatic. But let’s not forget the paradise outside of the
hotel room! Bernard and I immediately considered changing our flight and
staying for a month. We immediately decide that we should stay up late every
night and wake up really early so as to make the most of this already perfect
vacation.
At this time it’s about 2:45pm. The executive lounge opens
at 3pm. We decide to check out the pool and wrap back around and hit the
lounge because we are, in fact, executives on this trip. (A once in a lifetime
experience!!!!!!)
The pool is gorgeous. We dip our feet and they dry off
immediately. There’s NO one around… except the sun and all its fury. It was
hotter than hot. I needed that sunblock…
I caved. We went back to the gift shop and I reluctantly put
the sunblock on our tab. I ignored the price and decided I would make it my
week’s mission to bathe in this shit and NOT get burned. I would apply it every
8 minutes.
3pm! The executive lounge was waiting! What would be there?
She said afternoon tea. Would it be just tea? Maybe tea and Chinese pastries? I
was giddy at the thought of pastries. I wouldn’t get my hopes up though.
Everything we’ve already received on this trip has been more than enough. Let’s
assume it’s just green tea in a beautiful lounge.
It wasn’t just tea… Bernard, specifically, was on cloud 9…
